MONTHLY STATEMENTS

During the 3 1/2 years of World War II, a conflict that began with the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor in December 1941 and concluded with the unconditional surrender of Germany and Japan in 1945, the United States engaged in an extraordinary effort that led to the production of an impressive fleet consisting of 22 aircraft carriers, 8 formidable battleships, 48 agile cruisers, 349 highly effective destroyers, 420 destroyer escorts, 203 submarines designed for stealth and efficiency, along with 34 million tons of merchant ships that facilitated crucial supply lines. The U.S. also produced an astonishing 100,000 fighter aircraft, 98,000 bombers equipped for long-range missions, 24,000 transport aircraft vital for logistics, and 58,000 training aircraft essential for developing skilled pilots. Moreover, the war machine included 93,000 tanks capable of traversing diverse terrains, 257,000 artillery pieces providing heavy fire support, 105,000 mortars for precision strikes, over 3,000,000 machine guns for close combat, and 2,500,000 military trucks that ensured mobility and transportation. Reflecting on this monumental effort, one cannot help but wonder: what can you accomplish in a span of 3 1/2 years? It’s indeed a significant length of time to transform not just your surroundings but your very self, progressing from your current state to the envisioned future you strive for. Until you truly internalize and live by the powerful words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, you may find yourself still susceptible to the distractions of time and the challenges that life presents. Those profound words echoed his belief that, "Every wall is a door"; each obstacle can transform into an opportunity for growth and change.
When the essence of our thoughts dictates our pace, and our minds rush from one frenetic attitude to another, we risk becoming overly agitated, leading to a state that borders on petulance. It’s crucial to remember that while DANGER is undeniably REAL, FEAR is ultimately a CHOICE we create for ourselves. Admiring someone doesn’t always equate to liking them; it can sometimes just be a recognition of their qualities without personal affinity.
Years ago, I encountered the notion that a home devoid of books is akin to a house without windows, offering no view of the outside world—this metaphor rings profoundly true. Until you open yourself to learning more, excelling further, and gaining varied experiences, you may remain unaware of what true humility entails. The most powerful motivator towards achieving genuine humility is the accomplishment of your goals and aspirations. It is at these pivotal moments that you come to realize just how small and, admittedly, ignorant you actually are in the grand scheme of things. You do not require mercy unless you hold guilt; conversely, if you find yourself lacking guilt, what you truly need is justice. In the grand narrative of life, there always exists a purity of purpose that shines through when reason takes a back seat.
This month, we embrace the THEME of QUITTING. Have you taken that first step toward quitting something that no longer serves you? Or are you contemplating letting go tomorrow? The only endeavor I would encourage you to postpone is QUITTING itself. To encapsulate this sentiment, I reflect on the words I penned in my third book entitled, YOU CAN DO IT. I stated, "Whenever I look at myself from the inside, I come to the realization that I am targeting perfection, yet whenever I glance at myself from the outside, it becomes clear that I am aiming for excellence." In alignment with the wisdom shared by the exceptional psychologist, Carl Jung, it is worth noting, "Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, DREAMS; who looks inside, AWAKENS." These insights remind us of the duality of perspective — one inward and one outward, each offering distinct revelations about ourselves and our aspirations.
As we step into this promising month, I wish you all a tremendously fruitful February 2014. I believe it is going to be a spectacular year for you who are reading this, filled with opportunities and triumphs. Furthermore, let’s not forget the lesson that a rocket must weigh a million tons to escape the confines of our atmosphere and reach the moon. Similarly, there is a particular 'weight' you must bear and carry to soar towards your dreams! So, here’s to a HAPPY NEW MONTH filled with ambition and determination!
