MONTHLY STATEMENTS
Expired poison is still poison. This morning, I was reminded that the difference between INVENTION and INNOVATION is EXECUTION. Like I always state in my lessons from Linda Hill - a Harvard professor, it's essential to understand that in the rapidly changing landscape of today’s business world, the ability to innovate is paramount. To be competitive today, you can’t simply EXECUTE, you have to be able to INNOVATE. And to be truly INNOVATIVE, you need to create a CULTURE OF ENGAGEMENT OF LEARNING. To create this culture, you need three things; CONFLICT, DIVERSITY, and AGILITY. Conflict doesn't have to be negative; rather, it can spur creativity and push people to think outside the box. Diversity introduces a multitude of perspectives that enrich discussions and lead to innovative solutions, while agility allows teams to adapt swiftly to changes and challenges in a dynamic environment. I strongly encourage you to watch my interview by following this link to understand this principle and some others in greater depth.
The theme for this month is JUDGMENT. I have realized over time that sometimes people with so much knowledge in their heads seldom recognize the immense value of wisdom in their lives and in the decisions they make. Wisdom fosters better judgment. TD Jakes once said in one of his profound sermons, ‘The problem with people who judge you during one period of your life is that they don’t really grasp the totality of your life. It’s akin to someone joining in the middle of a movie and evaluating the movie based solely on one fleeting scene. But if you are going to understand anyone, you have to look at the totality of his experience and then evaluate who he/she is without jumping to conclusions based on this particular moment alone.’ Life is a continuous journey shaped by myriad of experiences; recognising this aids in developing empathy and understanding towards others.
As I conclude this month’s series, always remember that MERCY is from a position of strength whereas being VULNERABLE is from a position of weakness. To show mercy is to exhibit a tremendous amount of strength, as it requires humility, compassion, and the ability to forgive. On the other hand, vulnerability, while often misunderstood, is not an indication of weakness but rather a testament to one’s bravery. Embracing vulnerability can lead to profound growth and deeper connections with those around us.
HAPPY NEW MONTH! As we embrace this new month, remember to hug your loved ones so tight that their broken pieces stick together again! This month offers a fresh start, a new opportunity to express love and gratitude to those who matter most in our lives. Let’s make a conscious effort to nurture our relationships, spread joy, and cherish every moment with them. Life is fleeting, but the memories and bonds we create are everlasting!
I wish you a prosperous March 2015.
Wellness always,
