“I have come to prove beyond reasonable DOUBT that GOD sometimes blesses us by taking away from our hands the GOLD we understand and cling to and handing us the DIAMONDS we have no idea about. We need to always pray for WISDOM to recognize and discern many situations that cross our paths, highlighting how transformative experiences can often lead to greater opportunities and understanding that shines brighter than we might have imagined at first glance.
In one of Donald Trump’s Apprentice series, I remember him saying, ‘The last thing dogs would want to know is that they are helping cats.’ I found these words too deep, almost poetically profound. Ultimately, Entrepreneurs don’t really become businesspeople until after they lose their first business. The advantage of reflex is mandatory and valuable, teaching us lessons about resilience and strength. Imagine what would happen if you first thought about stepping off when you step on hot coals? Making a decision on whether to withdraw your foot or not? You get burnt regardless! That unconscious reflex action is necessary in all sections of life, pushing us to act instinctively when faced with challenges.
I remember reading from Robert Bake, a very powerful statement that I consider his best creative piece ever! He said, ‘There is a difference between burying and planting. Until we are dead, all the challenges we go through in life are planting, not burying us; we can determine to emerge from them when we are stronger, wise, richer, humbler and more focused. This perspective carries a transformative influence on how we interpret our struggles. Do you have the necessary achiever's skills to ride through to success? Are you equipped with the right mindset and tools for growth?’ Ultimately, you can trade hours for dollars or you can trade ideas for millions – a powerful reflection on the value of creativity and insight.
The theme message of this month is CONNECTING TO YOUR MORTALITY. Are you worthy the temptation? Are you worthy the TRIAL? I remember the great words of one of my favorite orators, Robin Sharma [Author of – The Monk who sold his Ferrari]. He said, ‘Connecting to your mortality is a great source of wisdom.’ He then quoted Steve Jobs’ sensational message, ‘The great thing with connecting with death is because it's a life wake up call. And you realize we are already naked and we have nothing to lose.’ This potent reminder of our transience serves as motivation to seize each moment fully. Like Les Brown said, ‘Take all the risk because you will never make it out of LIFE ALIVE,’ urging us to embrace every opportunity and embrace our true potential.
