Never launch a missile from a canoe, I said last month, while addressing a distinguished audience, I emphasized just how everyone has a different fingerprint, everyone has a different guidebook as well. Many people make the error of reading another's rulebook like it were their own. Its not necessary to learn the rules if you are not willing to learn the precedents. You can't get away with torture from your conscious when you abandon conviction for expediency. We should therefore rather follow expediency rather than the crowd. Providence will not always protect you from error.
A famous surgeon once said, 'I can teach you in ten minutes how to take out an appendix. But it will take me four years to teach you what to do if something goes wrong.' This month, I will share a principle i learnt from Robert H. Schuller. He is one of the greatest men of faith that ever lived on earth and his principles on using Faith to Succeed are as below;
Faith leads to dreaming, dreaming leads to desiring, desiring leads to praying, praying leads to beginning which leads to deciding. Deciding leads to planning which leads to waiting. Waiting leads to paying the price which leads managing problems. Managing problems finally leads to success.
On the next dimension, Faith produces a force called PURPOSE which produces a force called PASSION which produces a force called HOPE which produces a force called COMMITMENT which produces a force called DIRECTION which produces a force called THINKING THROUGH which generates a force called PATIENCE. Patience produces a force called DETERMINATION which produces a force called CONTROL which releases a force called ENTHUSIASM.
On the next dimension Faith is dreaming which releases a powerful purpose, which sets you free from the blahs. When you are free from the blahs, you are free from boredom which frees you from anxiety. Then you are free from inertia which frees you from indecision which in turn frees you from confusion. Freedom from confusion frees you from impatience which frees you from expediency. Freedom from expediency frees you from defeatism which frees you from fear of failure. Basically, first you get Excited! Encouraged! Involved! Dedicated! Organized! Consistent! Reliable! Optimistic! and then Successful!

This reminds me of the words of Napoleon Hill, 'Fear paralyses the faculty of reason, destroys the faculty of imagination, kills off self reliance, undermines enthusiasm, discourages initiative, leads to uncertainty of purpose, encourages procrastination, wipes out enthusiasm and makes self control an impossibility. It takes the charm from one's personality, destroys the possibility of accurate thinking, diverts concentration of effort, it masters persistence, turns willpower into nothingness, destroys ambition, beclouds the memory, and invites failure in every conceivable form; it kills love and assassinates the inner emotions of the heart, discourages friendship and invites disaster in a hundred forms, leads to sleeplessness, misery and unhappiness - and all this despite that we live in a society of over abundance of everything the heart could desire, with nothing standing between us and our desires except lack of a definite purpose.' I remember an African saying, 'When the wise man is pointing at the moon, the wise man notices the moon but the fool notices the finger and all its defects.'
Basically, there is always a huge difference between a GESTURE and a MOVE. A kind gesture will never be the same as a kind move. One requires balance as a pre - requisite and one may or may not have this variable. Basically, the praise that supports is balanced by the reprimand that challenges. Just like Deepak Chopra defines synchronicity as living in a timeless mind, ageless body, diachronicity on the other hand is living through time. Ultimately, attention and intention are based on your unique values. The extra mile is usually unpopulated. To live by worry is to live against reality. Make your entry terrific and exit glorious.
